‘Danh Tinh’ is the incredible story of a Vietnamese community in London and Dam Van Huynh, an internationally celebrated choreographer.

The community is the elderly ‘veterans of the boat people’ who left Vietnam after the war making their home here in London. At the heart of the story is Dam, himself a child refugee, and their collective battle to save their East London community center.

The team of Mother Brown Films with Directors Caswell Coggins and Kevin Lee Brown followed the R&D process of Re:birth by Van Huynh Company and interviewed community members of Centre 151 throughout 2019 until the pandemic hit. Further material was recorded in the early stages of the pandemic in 2020 and during the last week of Van Huynh Co’s R&D process of Re:birth in September 2020 after the first lockdown ended; filming is still ongoing.
